4 Stars I bought this same crib from [...], it did not say what brand it was online but when it came it said “Million Dollar Baby” on the box, which seems to be the same as the DaVinci line. It’s very confusing with all the branded names. My mother laughed when she saw this in our babies room as apparently I had the same style crib as a baby. We have had ours for 19 months. It was [...] when I purchased it, there was also a[...]version on target at the time (looked the same) but I opted for the $200 purely hoping it was better quality.
I have been very happy with the quality of this crib based on it’s price. We have our nearly 20 month old daughter still in it. I used the drop side back when she was little but I really don’t have much need for it anymore. I am 26 weeks pregnant and while it’s not “easy” put her in it doesn’t cause my any trouble to get her in and out. She sometimes likes to stand and giggle the railing and I did notice once after all that jiggling and moving it around to get behind it to get dropped pacifiers that the top screws on the one side needed to be tightened. I don’t think anything would have happened and it did not bother me, I was not surprised with all that jiggling she did to it that it needed to be double checked. She’s fairly strong too.
We never used the wheels, I have them in her closet in case I ever wanted to use them but I felt it was safer without them on. They are a nice option if you live in a situation where you might need to move it around a lot we did not.
We are due to have our second girl in July/August when DD #1 will be just 2, and I don’t want to rush her out of the crib so we are actually going to buy a second one. The price was fair and the quality was good (it also has a teething guard which was a huge plus for us, DD hasn’t tried to teeth on it and if she has I didn’t notice because there isn’t a mark or scratch on the crib at all. One reason I got a less expensive crib was this very reason. I wanted to have my girls close together and did not want to stress about re-using an expensive crib, this way I can get a second one fairly guilt free and not rush my girl out of her crib. I recommend this crib.
2 Stars I was wary about this crib at first view, but after reading how much everyone else liked it, I decided to give it a try because I loved the look of it and the price. I wish I had gone with my initial instinct. This crib is cheaply made and won’t last long with our everyday use (we’ve been using it for several months now). The drop-side is a pain and doesn’t go up or down smoothly – I have to wiggle & bend it to get it to stay in any position because the rail-stop mechanism is cheap plastic. The casters aren’t smooth-rolling either. I’ve assembled more pieces of RTA furniture than I can count so I’m used to deciphering poorly written instructions and I know I assembled this accurately.
If you aren’t planning to actually use the drop-side or casters, I guess it would be fine. It looks pretty and doesn’t cost much, but those the only positive things I can say.
I’m going to buy a different one.
4 Stars Ordered this crib in white on a Sunday, received it three days later on Wednesday! Very well packed with every single item accounted for. Finish isn’t exactly super smooth and high quality, but nice enough for the money. We put it together in about an hour. Half of this time was spent trying to figure out the drop rail though! You really have to be sure you have the rail brackets and rail shoes on correctly. I lost count of how many times we switched them around! The instructions DO NOT make it clear as to which is which. It’d be nice if these were labled! All and all, it is a decent crib for the money. It’s sleek lines are not too overpowering for the small bedroom it goes in. Definitely a better choice than going with a heavy sleigh crib. Would highly recommend for the budget minded person who doesn’t have a huge room to put a crib in.
5 Stars This bed looks like it could have come straight from Rachel Ashwell’s Shabby Chic high-end boutique line. It is solid wood and the most beautiful shade of pale pink. I sort of wish the two ends came up higher for a little more drama but the picture clearly shows that they don’t. I just didn’t think of it at the time. Still, it is definitely worth the money. What a great value.
3 Stars This crib is OK. The wheels and casters on ours broke after 9 months. We have had it now for 2 and 1/2 years, and everything else seems to be holding up OK. For the price, it’s not bad. I wish I could buy replacement whels and casters though.
5 Stars This crib is fantastic. Simple to put together — no tools are needed. It has held up to our child extremely well. He jumps in it and everything else a little boy does. It has all the bells and whistles of more expensive ones. It got Consumer Reports top rating too! Just don’t over pay for the crib here. Check out Walmart and Babies R Us to get it for around $110.
5 Stars This Jenny Lind crib is fabulous! This is actually the second crib we’ve purchased for son. The first, a more expensive Babi Italia model, came severely scratched and the hardware was of such poor quality, the side of the crib never stayed up. We kept it for 6 months before buying this new crib. We’ve had the Jenny Lind crib for the past 3 months and it performs like an expensive crib should! It’s classic lines make it a timeless addition for any nursery. And, without a doubt, the hardware, the woodwork (great finish with absolutely no scratches) and the attention to detail on this crib make it the best value out there. I *highly* recommend this crib.
4 Stars We bought this crib for my daughter when we found out she had a little brother coming along. The crib is sturdy and very durable. We already had a Baby Bassett crib that cost $350 and there is a definite difference in quality, but not so much that I wouldn’t buy again if I had too. We just needed this crib until she was ready for a big girl bed which will be soon.
We also bought the matching changing table, which I would not recommend. It is very flimsy and wobbly. The shelves, including the surface for changing the baby is made of corrugated wood and bends and flexes very easily. I would not put a baby over 20lbs on this. The shelves constantly fall out of the grooves as well.
5 Stars Even though i didn’t order the crib through amazon i still feel the need to share my review. The finish is a great, but beware of the instructions. They are a little confusing but with a little common sense it can be put together in no time. The only con is that the hardware is not black but brown, and the casters, which we decided not to use since we have carpet, are gold (YUCK). Other than that i love this crib, it feels solid and sturdy and I can’t wait for our little boy to try it out in a few weeks…now i’m off to order the matching changing table through amazon
3 Stars What I didn’t realize was that this crib was not adjustable. I bought this crib for my house so that when my grandson visits, he’ll have his own bed.
I like the old fashioned look, but I think it’s very basic. This should not be used at the primary residence if the more affordable version can be obtained.
It’s not bottom of the barrel, but not the best buy.
4 Stars I don’t have a lot of expertise in the area (this is our first baby), but it appears well constructed. Several reviews mentioned difficulty with assembly, but I found it fairly straight forward, although it was helpful to have two people when bolting the spring into place. The gold wheels look a little cheezy, so we left them off and it looks like a classic.
4 Stars I am very happy so far with this crib.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that it did come with a broken end peice and there was no phone # to call and report this, only an email address. The company did send me a new peice in a timely manner but it was very distressing as a soon to be mother to not know what is going on when you are just waiting for a reply e-mail, that did take about 3 days for them to get back to me. Then I received the new peice in about a week.
The crib seems very sturdy and I was able to put it together myself at 7 months pregnant. I am hoping that it will hold up as well once the baby arrives.
5 Stars The crib is beautiful! We like the “old school” look of it. It’s very sturdy. A little difficult to understand the assembly directions if you’ve never put together a crib before. The standard size mattress fits into it perfectly. The drop side is easy to operate – can drop the side with your foot or your knee – doesn’t require 2 hands. The baby will love it!
5 Stars I bought this crib for our summer home. I wanted something sturdy that would be easy to take apart/put together and store at the end of the summer season. I also wanted it to last for future kids, but didn’t want to pay alot since we had already purchased an expensive crib for our full time home. I am very picky and since my daughter is already 20 months, I needed something that could withstand toddlerhood. Based on positive reviews I purchased Da Vinci Jenny Lind in Cherry color. I love the crib! The only problem that I see with the crib is, the wheels do NOT lock. So on hardwood floors the crib rolls if your toddler jumps and moves. On carpet it would be fine, you wouldn’t know the difference. My husband taped the wheels so they wouldn’t move and that seems to work. The crib itself is VERY sturdy even for a toddler who likes to run back and forth in the crib. It also has a clear teething bar on the rail for biters. Overall, worth the money, looks like you paid much more for it, sturdier than it looks online and it is not a bulky piece of furniture. I would recommend this brand and style to anyone.
5 Stars I have to admit when I first looked for cribs I wanted something that looked more fancy than this one. But, safety and high ratings were more important. I read so many great reviews about this crib. With the more expensive cribs people had problems with quality, mattresses fitting, or poor instructions. We haven’t had any of those problems. I did choose to get the DaVinci Jenny Lind instead of the Delta because they use better quality products and finish. Also, it’s a one hand drop down. So I would pay the few extra dollars for the DaVinci. It looks beautiful set up with the bedding too.
4 Stars the crib was pretty easy puting together, and it looks beautiful. my only issue is the side bar, which is a little difficult pulling it down.
4 Stars No problems what so ever. My son has been in it for 16 months, and we love it. Best of all, it looks great.
