5 Stars I’ve been using this pump every day for 4 months, and I’m absolutely satisfied with it. Since my son was premature I had to pump exclusively in the beginning, and I can say without reservation that this pump works just as well, and quickly, as the hospital pump. It empties my breasts in 10 minutes, it’s easy, and it travels well. Also with certain bras (not the Medela bras, as they seem to require some type of adapter) you can pump hands free by simply hooking/securing the nursing bra cups over the breast pump cups.
One last comment I will make which speaks to quality, is that I ordered extra membranes and tubing to have available “just in case,” but have yet to need them as the original ones are still operational.
I can – and DO – recommend this pump to all nursing moms, and if you think this one is expensive, consider two things: 1. the value of your time and convenience, and 2. the total cost after you end up replacing the cheaper one when you find that it doesn’t really meet your expectations or breaks down.

5 Stars The PISA is an amazing pump and the cost is equal to a few months of formula, so my pump has already paid for itself (used for 6 months and still going strong)! I’ve tried generic immitations and they just don’t compare. Invest your money in the real thing, it’s worth it!

1 Stars I have been using my medela pump for the past 5 months( first couple of months intermittently and the last 2 1/2 months daily). Suddenly it broke down without any warning signs on a weekend. My dealer was not open to replace it and this has caused a considerable loss of milk supply in me. Thankfully the dealer was a local dealer and very good. He replaced “just the pump” in the pack with a new one.
Per Medela’s instructions, they actually want to send the broken pump over to them and they will take care of it, if it was under a yr old. It would have been very late for me if I were to ship it and they have to ship it back.
Another thing that is happening is my back pack’s handles have started wearing down. And I hardly carry them around.
I am giving it a 1 star because of the poor quality check that must have been carried out for such an expensive pump.
I would think twice before buying this.

2 Stars I’m very dissappointed with this expensive pump. Now I’m looking for another one. It’s difficult to pump if you have large nipples. You have to buy extra sheild which costs extra. It’s noisy. It loses suction. The milk backs up to the tubing and gets moldy.I clean the parts everyday. I have contacted Medela a few times to troubleshoot the pump and they eventually sent me another motor (great customer service). It worked for a few months and now the same problem is happening. I guess it works for some and not others. Now I’m in the hunt for another pump since I want to exclusively give my baby pure breastmilk for her first year.

5 Stars I was debating between this and the Avent pump since I have nothing but Avent bottles. In the end, Babies R Us was sold out of the Avent and I bought the Medela backpack with an adaptor set so you can pump straight into the Avent bottles (Avent doesn’t advertise this well). I’m so glad I did. The Avent doesn’t have a battery pack so I don’t know how you’d use it on a trip unless you don’t mind standing in the middle of an airport bathroom pumping. I, myself, prefer the privacy of a stall.
Also, no one can tell its a breast pump. The backpack is very stylish and I was able to fit additional items in it so that I could use it as my only carry-on. The design is very innovative which you learn the more you use.
Most importantly, I can get 5 oz per breast out in less than 10 minutes so you don’t feel like you’re waiting forever while pumping. I’d recommend this to anybody.

5 Stars I am so greatfull to this pump! I was able to exclusively breastfeed two children for a year each, while working full time, taking vacations (without the kids), etc. I also have the car adapter which is awesome, I was able to pump to and from my work, (which is over an hour away), while driving. I only recommend that for breatfeeding/pumping pros! The warranty is only good for a year, but mine is now three years old and still going strong. We are expecting our third child and I hope my pump holds up for another year, if not I will still probably spend the money on another pump like this one! Best of luck!

5 Stars I breastfed my daughter for 13 months and this pump is what kept me going! For me, I could get around 6 oz in 7-8 minutes every time pumping both sides. The storage cooler is great for short periods. I still use the ice pack in the diaper bag because it stays cold for so long. I would definitely recommend the car adapter over the battery pack for travel. For me, the battery pack made the pump very slow and it died quickly. The car adapter works great. By the last 3 months, I was pumping full time and only nursing once a day so this thing got a lot of use. I would recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a pump that will last. I’m planning to use mine for my next baby as well.

5 Stars I had the Evenflo Dual Pump for about 2 months. The valves were constantly getting stuck, causing the milk to bakc up into the motor. It was horrible. My mom said that she would take me to the store that night to buy the one that my sister had (she’s a midwife) I loved the backpack model as it wasn’t that obvious what it was when I had it sitting at my desk at work. It was also a lot more convenient when we would go out. I would highly recommend the car adapter. This made roadtrips a lot easier. It doesn’t have very much room for storing other things, but I preferred the compact size to that of the bag. I used the side pocket to hold the AA batteries and the car charger. They also make a bra that you can wear to be able to have your hands free while pumping.

5 Stars This pump is fantastic! I am able to pump out upto 6 ouces at a time in 15 minutes. Very easy to use and carry around. I used the Madela Symphony earlier and find this to be quite comparable so long as my milk supply is good, and this pump helps to ensure that when my baby gets fussy. It is totally worth the investment. And its wonderful to have others take over feeding the baby to give me a break! Only one thing – I find it hard to pump both sides at the same time since my hands get totally tied up.

5 Stars I purchased this with the recent birth of my daughter and love it. With my last daughter I borrowed the original Medela Electric pump from a friend and although I had no problem with it, this one is much more advanced. The variable speeds and “Let Down” function make pumping quick, easy, and very efficient. I can easily pump 8 ounces in 15 minutes. It is a must have for any working mother. Although it is expensive, it is well worth it if you need to return to work and pump full time. I also liked the discreet backpack design so that you were not advertising to the world that you are a nursing mother!!! If you are pumping only part time then purchase a less expensive manual pump such as the Medela Harmony at only $34.99. But if you need to pump full time, invest in a good pump. It makes returning to work a little easier.
